John Buck - Political Persuasion: Independent

I was raised in Penycae, educated locally and at Kingston Polytechnic and have lived In Ponciau since 1978 with my wife Eirian and son David.  I worked for a local estate agent and now run my own business in partnership with my wife.

I was approached and elected to stand for Ponciau South Ward of Rhos Community Council in February 2006 and have a great interest in the Community, representing the Community Council on the WCBC Forum at Local Development Plan meetings, North Wales Police with Wrexham Rural Community Councils and Liaison Committee with the Stiwt Arts Trust, becoming the RCC representative on the Stiwt Board in 2012.  I have served on the Rhos Youth Council, the Rhos Young Peoples Management Committee and am a member of the Friends of Ponciau Banks Park committee.

I have been involved with fund raising for various local groups including the Stiwt, Rhos Aelwyd FC, Eisteddfod yr Urdd bro Maelor, Ysgol I D Hooson and Ysgol Y Grango as well as being treasurer of Theatr Yr Ifanc for 5 years, something that I enjoy immensely and will continue to do.

Paul Pemberton - Political Persuasion: Independent

I have lived in Rhos since 1973 after being born in Broad Street and moving to Johnstown for a time, I moved to Queen Street, Rhos when I married Liz and have been married for 40 years and have a daughter Charlotte and a grandson Theo Jac.

I was educated at Ruabon Grammar School, then left to start working at Johnstown Mechanical as an apprentice welder.   Then had a short spell at Dennis’ Brickworks for 6 months before moving to Bersham colliery where I spent 10 years working as a blacksmith’s plater welder.

In 1979 I started a garage whilst still working in the pit alongside until 1980 and am still running the garage to date.

I have been a community councillor for 12 years and a Wrexham County Borough Councillor for 10 years
